A Priori Validity and Experiential Dynamics: on the Systemic Position of the Critique of Judgement

The article proposes exemplarity as the key topic of Part I of Kant’s Critique of Judgement, the „Critique of Aesthetic Judgement“. The act of aesthetic judgement, I try to show, is a suitable example of exemplarity itself – including the irreducibility of exemplarity, as a specific dimension, to conceptuality. The findings are subsequently applied to the notion of „aesthetic idea“ and to a suggested notion of „respecting reality“ (analogous to Kant’s notion of Achtung in moral philosophy).
