Jesus and Truth
Authors attempt is to demonstrate a unique interrelatedness between the Truth and a witness. According to the Gospel of John (18:37 and 14:6) Jesus attitude to the Truth in both passages provides an telling example of an fruitful dialectical approach. On the one hand it can be conceprtualized as the recognition of the sovereign rule of Truth over human witnesses (J 18:37). On the other hand, however, his explicit identification with the Truth in the famous saying in John 14:6 is compelling too. There is much that can be exploited from this symbiotic „unity“ both philosophically and theologically. The interplay between distance and proximity in our relationship to the Truth is challenging.
