Kant's Reflexion "On Innner Sense"
The fragment On Inner Sense represents an important document, in which Kant tries to explicate the connection between self-knowledge, time and the receptivity of the human mind. The first part of the paper offers a transcription and translation of the fragment. The second part of the paper reviews the results of recent Kant scholarship concerning the origin, the time of composition and the purpose of the document. At the same time, I attempt a reconstruction of the main theses of the third part of the fragment. I hope to show that the fragment On inner Sense gives a new refutation of idealism in comparison with the second edition of the Critique of Pure Reason. Attached as a supplement to this paper is genuine receipt of professor Friedrich Wilhelm Schubert from 1850.
